Oral meds, insulin, ear drops, eye drops, subcutaneous fluids — our vet-trained staff handles complex protocols confidently.

Vet on-site

Unlike typical boarding facilities, our team includes licensed veterinary technicians on-site 16 hours/day. A vet is always a phone call away.

Welcome health check

Every boarding guest receives a vet tech exam at check-in. We catch anything that needs attention before it becomes a problem.

Photo updates

We text a photo update at Day 2 and Day 4 of any stay longer than 3 nights. No news is good news — but we know you miss them.

FAQ

Boarding questions, answered.

What vaccinations are required for boarding?

Dogs must be current on rabies, DHPP (or DA2PP), and bordetella. Cats need rabies and FVRCP. If your pet is behind on vaccines, we can update them at check-in for an additional fee. Bring records or have your previous vet email them to us the day before arrival.

Can you administer my pet's medications?

Yes — oral medications, ear drops, eye drops, insulin injections, and most other prescription medications. There is no additional fee for up to two medications per day. Three or more medications are $5/day extra. Bring all medications in their original labeled packaging.

What happens if my pet gets sick during boarding?

Because Harlow Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary practice, your pet is seen immediately by one of our vets. We contact you right away to discuss findings and a treatment plan. Emergency exam fees are waived for boarding guests — you only pay for diagnostics and treatment if needed.

Do you offer group play for dogs?

Yes, for dogs assessed as appropriate for group play. All dogs receive a temperament assessment on their first boarding stay. Groups are separated by size and energy level, and play sessions are supervised by a certified team member at all times. Dogs who prefer solo time never have to join a group — we respect every dog's preference.

Can I bring my pet's own food and bed?

Absolutely, and we encourage it. Keeping your pet on their regular diet prevents GI upset. Label all items clearly with your pet's name. We provide bedding, but many pets sleep better with something that smells like home — please bring a blanket or t-shirt if your pet is prone to anxiety.
